RFP – Consultancy Services for Road Upgradation in Handeni District, Tanzania

The Government of Tanzania has announced an RFP (Request for Proposal) for the provision of consultancy services for detailed engineering design, preparation of tender documents, and construction supervision for the upgrading of 40 km roads in Handeni District (Tanga Region) to appropriate sealing standards.

To deliver this prestigious assignment, applications are invited from highly qualified and experienced professionals for the following key positions:

1. Team Leader / Senior Highway Engineer

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • A Postgraduate degree in Highway Engineering, Project Management, or related field will be an added advantage.
  • Must be professionally registered by recognized accreditation boards.
  • Should have a minimum of 15 years’ cumulative experience in road studies and designs.
  • Must have successfully worked as Team Leader on at least three (3) similar assignments in the last 10 years.

2. Resident Engineer

  • Must be a Registered Civil Engineer or Chartered Engineer with a degree in Civil or Highway Engineering.
  • A Postgraduate qualification in Civil/Highway Engineering is an added advantage.
  • Must have minimum 10 years of specific experience in road/bridge design and construction supervision.

3. Quantity Surveyor

  • Must hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Economics, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Should be registered with the relevant professional body.
  • Must have at least 10 years of cumulative experience in similar works.
  • Should have worked as a Quantity Surveyor on at least two (2) similar projects in the last 10 years.

4. Bridge / Structural Engineer

  • Must hold a Postgraduate qualification in Bridge or Structural Engineering.
  • Should have minimum 10 years of specific experience in bridge/structural design and construction.
  • Must have served as Bridge/Structural Engineer on at least two (2) projects of similar nature in the last 10 years.
